As therapists we do not create something we can stand back from, look at, and claim as our own. Mindful therapy simply helps the client discover and acknowledge the wisdom of their own inner experience. When insights emergre, new roads are found, and the client’s life reshapes around more realistic, nourishing beliefs, it is not the therapists’ doing. Our work as therapists is more like that of a midwife. We help nature take its course. When the baby is born there is no question to whom it belongs.

It is the client who looks inside himself, questions old reactions, experiences the pain, integrates new ways of being.

As therapists we are blessed by being a witness and celebrating the new birth.
